Air France introduce signature interior fragrance created by Francis Kurkdjian

Air France have launched its signature home fragrance, AF001. The airline called on the talents of Francis Kurkdjian, Dior’s in-house perfumer and artistic director of Maison Francis Kurkdjian.

The airline say, “Starting on 15 January 2025, this home fragrance will gradually be introduced at the entrance to certain Air France lounges at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, as a welcome gesture at the start of a journey. Customers will discover the fragrance in the lobby, the lounge and the La Première suites, as well as in the lounges located in terminals 2E halls L and M, 2F and 2G. Air France will be gradually using the fragrance in its other lounges in Paris and around the world over the coming months.”

AF001, designed to evoke a feeling of space, calm and light is described as a comforting musky scent, combined with mimosa from the south of France, with hints of jasmine and rose. The name is a reference to the Concorde flights between New York and Paris in the late 1970s.

‘I’m very proud to have created Air France’s first signature home fragrance,’ said Kurkdjian. ‘It was the illusion of a ray of sunshine on the wings of an aircraft that inspired me to create this light, fresh and comforting home fragrance’.

‘The Air France travel experience now elevates all five senses: sight, with the haute couture uniforms of our staff, our cabin interiors and the meticulous design of our lounges, taste with the delicious dishes on the menu on board, touch with the soft fabrics of our seats, sound with our playlists on board, and now smell with this prestigious signature fragrance’ added Fabien Pelous, SVP Customer Experience at Air France.

Experimental Perfume Club branch out into home fragrance

London based fragrance house, [Experimental Perfume Club](Experimental Perfume Club – Basenotes), have launched three new candles. EPC’s concept of fragrance layering is carried forward in this launch, with three three new candles available individually, as well as a set of three minis, designed to be layered.

The candles come in three of the best-selling EPC scents from the brands Essential Collection of fine fragrances. The scent of each candle represents one part of the fragrance pyramid; top ( Cardamom Moss), mid (Tonka Sesame) and base( Cedarwood Absinth). Each scent can be enjoyed alone, or lit together to layer the fragrances in seven different combinations.

The wax blend features a 40% plant-based formula enriched with shea butter and is housed in reusable ceramic containers.

Cardamom Moss

“A swirl of spices wrapped in salty waves of mineral mosses and Ambroxan. A scent of dualities pairing cool and warm spices. Zingy ginger fuses with warm turmeric, cool cardamon is juxtaposed with the depth of cinnamon. An overdose of Ambroxan and moss gives way to velvety, salt tinged woods wrapped into a hint of caramelised tobacco and powdery musks.”

Tonka Sesame

“An utterly delectable combination of gourmand notes and woods; fused in perfect harmony. Green hazelnuts, almonds and tonka beans all swirl around a delightful sesame. Heliotrope bolsters the nutty notes and hints of rice, whilst earthy patchouli and cedarwood ground the fragrance. A toasty scent that smells good enough to eat”.

Cedarwood Absinth

“A rich leathery fragrance unashamedly herbaceous, sultry and powerful. Aromatic wormwood oil gives the scent of Absinth. Cypriol roots bring a powerful earthy, balsamic undertone, bolstered by Virginia and Atlas Cedar, and patchouli. A rich leathery scent that begins fresh, before softening to a sensual woody-tobacco signature.”

All three scents are available now at the EPC website as 240g individually, or a 3x75g Layering Collection.

Cloon Keen are celebrating the upcoming festive season with The Noble Collection: Two candles – Noble Fir and Noble Myrrh, which are available separately, and as a limited edition coffret (Noble Péire) featuring both.

Cloon Keen celebrates this tradition with limited edition Noble Péire, a luxury coffret of the brand’s two winter scents for the festive season: Noble Fir and Noble Myrrh.

Both candles and the Noble Péire Coffret set are available at Les Senteurs and Cloonkeen.com from 1st November.
