Introduction
If you’re looking for that just-stepped-out-of-a-garden-in-Paris radiance, Guerlain’s Blooming Glow tutorial is just what you need.
It’s fresh, it’s ethereal, and it uses some of my absolute favourite Guerlain staples in limited edition packaging.

A masterclass in sustainable luxury: Guerlain and Nona Source have transformed high-end deadstock denim into a collection of precious, limited-edition cases for this year’s Spring collection.

Step 1: The Base: Terracotta Le Teint Glow
In the video, the application of the Terracotta Le Teint Glow (2N) is focused on achieving a seamless, second-skin finish rather than a mask of makeup.
1. The Back of Hand Palette
The artist starts by dispensing a single pump of the liquid foundation onto the back of their non-dominant hand.
Why they do this: This warms the product up slightly with body heat, making it more fluid and easier to blend. It also allows you to control exactly how much product goes onto the brush, preventing a cakey finish.
2. The Buffing Technique
The artist uses a dense, flat-top kabuki brush (specifically the Guerlain Terracotta Brush with the wooden handle).
The Motion: Instead of long streaks, they use small, circular buffing motions.
The Placement: They start right on the fleshy part of the cheek and blend outward toward the ears and downward toward the jawline.
3. The Unify Focus
The makeup artist is not trying to cover every freckle or mole. They are lightly stippling (tapping) and buffing to even out redness and add that glowy finish.
Notice how the artist doesn’t go right up under the eyes with the foundation? Keep that area clear for your concealer later. Using a brush like this really ‘massages’ the pigment into the skin so it looks like you just have amazing genetics rather than a great foundation!
Step 2: Set with a Glowy Finish
Time for the iconic Meteorites Blooming Glow. These pearls are legendary for a reason – they blur imperfections and catch the light beautifully.
The How-To: Swirl a large, fluffy brush into the pearls and sweep it over your cheekbones, forehead, and the bridge of your nose in a G shape (from forehead to cheekbone, then down to the jaw).
The Meteorites Blooming Glow pearls act like a real-life filter to blur the skin and create a literal halo of light.
Here is a deeper look at the technique and why it works…
The G Motion Technique
The artist uses the signature Guerlain application method. Instead of dusting it everywhere like a standard loose powder, they follow a specific path to maximise light reflection:
The Path: Start at the centre of the forehead, sweep out and down to the top of the cheekbone, then curve back in and down to the chin.
The Shape: It’s essentially drawing a large capital G on both sides of your face.
Why it works: This hits the high points of the face where natural light usually strikes, reinforcing that halo effect without making your whole face look shiny or metallic.
The Secret of the Denim Harmony
In this specific Blooming Glow version from the Denim collection, there’s a special addition: the blue pearl.
The Colour Correcting Magic: Each pearl colour has a job. The pink adds a healthy flush, the mauve catches light, and that new blue bead is specifically designed to counteract sallow/yellow tones in the skin.
The Result: It creates a cool-toned brightness that makes the skin look rested and healthy.

Don’t be afraid to give those pearls a good swirl! The powder is actually created by the pearls rubbing against each other. If you find you aren’t getting enough glow, give the closed tin a little shake before opening to create some ‘loose’ dust at the bottom, then dip your brush into that.
The Halo Effect vs. Highlighting
Unlike a traditional highlighter that can look like a stripe of shimmer, this creates a diffused glow. Because the particles use Stardust Technology (diamond powder encapsulated in microspheres), they don’t sit on top of the skin; they scatter light. This is why it’s called a halo – the light looks like it’s coming from your skin rather than sitting on it.

Step 3: The Multi-Dimensional Eye
The makeup artist uses the gorgeous quad palette to create the fresh eye look. Here’s how:
Sweep the Pink: Apply the vibrant pink shade across the entire lid as your base.
Blend the Copper: Add the copper tone into the crease and outer corner to create depth and warmth.
Add the Rose Gold: Pop the rose gold shade onto the inner corners and the lower lash line to open up the eyes.
Glide the Blue: This is the magic step! Using your finger or a dense brush, press the shimmering blue/silver shade right onto the centre of the lid. It creates an incredible, iridescent, blooming effect.

Step 4: Lift and Define
Frame those eyes with Mascara Noir G.
Step 5: Prime the Pout
To condition and tint the lips, the makeup artist used the ph-adapting lip balm from Guerlain.
Even if you’re skipping the next step for a low-key day, this balm is a handbag essential due to its pH tint and conditioning formula.
Step 6: The Glassy Finish
To amp up the spring glow, the makeup artist finished the look with the high-shine finish of KissKiss Bee Glow Oil (209 Blooming Glow).

You’re left with a look that’s equal parts romantic and modern. The contrast between the warm pinks and the cool blue shimmer on the eyes is such a vibe!
